I love the kitchen table in the kitchen! I didn't even know this was a thing but am very happy to say we accidently/inadvertently did that chez nous, and it really is a great addition. People often end up hanging out in the kitchen when we host, and we have to sort of guide everyone to the dining room table (which luckily isn't far away 😂). I agree that this configuration makes things particularly cozy. ✨
I love a table in the kitchen (we had one growing up in NYC and then one in the suburbs) but also a separate dining room or a dining table in the living room. You see a lot of the latter in Italy.
There is definitely something to be said for the ability to comfortably linger. I hope you get your perfect kitchen someday!
